Child Dedication
Dear Parents,
We are so excited that your family will be participating in Child Dedication this Sunday at Seeds Church! We consider this a very meaningful moment in the life of our church, and we're honored to celebrate this special occasion with you.
Here are a few details to help you prepare:
+ Child Dedication will take place during the 10:30am service only.
+ If you have extended family and friends attending, we encourage everyone to arrive early so you can find seats together.
+ We recommend not checking the child you are dedicating into Seeds Kids until after the Child Dedication portion of the service, which will happen immediately following the greeting time after worship.
+ As the church family is greeting one another after worship, we will invite all parents who are dedicating children to bring them to the front and face the congregation. Because of the number of families participating, some families may be asked to stand on the stage so that everyone has room.
+ Pastor JD will share a brief charge to the parents, and then our pastors and ministry leaders will lay hands on and anoint your child as we pray over your family.
+ We also have a fun Seeds Church tradition at the end of the dedication. Parents will be invited to lift their children high in the air as we present them to the Lord and to our church family, much like Rafiki lifting baby Simba atop Pride Rock in The Lion King!
+ The dedication portion of the service only lasts a few minutes. If your child gets fussy or restless, that's completely okay. We understand, and you're certainly not the first parents to experience that during a Child Dedication.
+ Your family and guests are welcome to take photos during the ceremony. We also have several beautiful spots around our property where you can take family pictures afterward to help commemorate this special day.
Most importantly, we want you to know that Child Dedication is more than simply a ceremony. In many ways, it is also a dedication of the parents. As you dedicate your child to the Lord, you are making a commitment before God and your church family that, with the help and power of the Holy Spirit, you will do everything you can to raise your child to know, love, and serve Jesus.
We are honored to stand with you, pray for you, and celebrate this important milestone together.
Blessings,
Pastor JD & the Seeds Church Team
